[0:03](https://www.translate.mom/transcript/D7RsRxLQrwif/en/omar-mukhtar-confronts-the-italian-commander-and-refuses-to-surrender?t=3) Why did you wait all this time? Were you hoping to drive us out of Libya with the little you have? [0:12](https://www.translate.mom/transcript/D7RsRxLQrwif/en/omar-mukhtar-confronts-the-italian-commander-and-refuses-to-surrender?t=12) We fought you. [0:16](https://www.translate.mom/transcript/D7RsRxLQrwif/en/omar-mukhtar-confronts-the-italian-commander-and-refuses-to-surrender?t=16) That's enough. But didn't your country's destruction matter to you? You are the ones who are destroying my country. [0:23](https://www.translate.mom/transcript/D7RsRxLQrwif/en/omar-mukhtar-confronts-the-italian-commander-and-refuses-to-surrender?t=23) What would you do if someone occupied your land? [0:28](https://www.translate.mom/transcript/D7RsRxLQrwif/en/omar-mukhtar-confronts-the-italian-commander-and-refuses-to-surrender?t=28) Did you ever consider what your attacks looked like to us? [0:32](https://www.translate.mom/transcript/D7RsRxLQrwif/en/omar-mukhtar-confronts-the-italian-commander-and-refuses-to-surrender?t=32) Ambushes, killings at night, and deception in the day, and threats to our farmers. They farm our land. Libya is not your country. [0:42](https://www.translate.mom/transcript/D7RsRxLQrwif/en/omar-mukhtar-confronts-the-italian-commander-and-refuses-to-surrender?t=42) You have no right to it, not even to a cattle pasture, no right at all. [0:49](https://www.translate.mom/transcript/D7RsRxLQrwif/en/omar-mukhtar-confronts-the-italian-commander-and-refuses-to-surrender?t=49) Italy has as much right here as any other country. [0:54](https://www.translate.mom/transcript/D7RsRxLQrwif/en/omar-mukhtar-confronts-the-italian-commander-and-refuses-to-surrender?t=54) England has rights in Egypt, France in Tunisia and Algeria, and Spain in Morocco. [1:00](https://www.translate.mom/transcript/D7RsRxLQrwif/en/omar-mukhtar-confronts-the-italian-commander-and-refuses-to-surrender?t=60) Nor do they have a historical right. We have a right here that goes back hundreds of years. [1:06](https://www.translate.mom/transcript/D7RsRxLQrwif/en/omar-mukhtar-confronts-the-italian-commander-and-refuses-to-surrender?t=66) Soon you'll strip me of everything, and you want me to justify your thefts. [1:13](https://www.translate.mom/transcript/D7RsRxLQrwif/en/omar-mukhtar-confronts-the-italian-commander-and-refuses-to-surrender?t=73) No nation has the right to occupy another nation. [1:26](https://www.translate.mom/transcript/D7RsRxLQrwif/en/omar-mukhtar-confronts-the-italian-commander-and-refuses-to-surrender?t=86) We came back here. [1:29](https://www.translate.mom/transcript/D7RsRxLQrwif/en/omar-mukhtar-confronts-the-italian-commander-and-refuses-to-surrender?t=89) That's reality. [1:44](https://www.translate.mom/transcript/D7RsRxLQrwif/en/omar-mukhtar-confronts-the-italian-commander-and-refuses-to-surrender?t=104) Look at this coin. [1:49](https://www.translate.mom/transcript/D7RsRxLQrwif/en/omar-mukhtar-confronts-the-italian-commander-and-refuses-to-surrender?t=109) It's one of the Caesars' coins, and another one was minted in Libya. [1:54](https://www.translate.mom/transcript/D7RsRxLQrwif/en/omar-mukhtar-confronts-the-italian-commander-and-refuses-to-surrender?t=114) You'll find Greek, Turkish, and Phoenician coins all over Libya, buried in our sands. Ah, I missed it. [2:05](https://www.translate.mom/transcript/D7RsRxLQrwif/en/omar-mukhtar-confronts-the-italian-commander-and-refuses-to-surrender?t=125) You are shortsighted. [2:13](https://www.translate.mom/transcript/D7RsRxLQrwif/en/omar-mukhtar-confronts-the-italian-commander-and-refuses-to-surrender?t=133) Your glasses, I think. The day they brought them to me, I knew you were nearby, in my hands. [2:20](https://www.translate.mom/transcript/D7RsRxLQrwif/en/omar-mukhtar-confronts-the-italian-commander-and-refuses-to-surrender?t=140) My glasses. [2:23](https://www.translate.mom/transcript/D7RsRxLQrwif/en/omar-mukhtar-confronts-the-italian-commander-and-refuses-to-surrender?t=143) We are both your prisoners. I will not be trivial. [2:29](https://www.translate.mom/transcript/D7RsRxLQrwif/en/omar-mukhtar-confronts-the-italian-commander-and-refuses-to-surrender?t=149) Here, take it. Take it. Yes, it has a certain antiquity. [2:52](https://www.translate.mom/transcript/D7RsRxLQrwif/en/omar-mukhtar-confronts-the-italian-commander-and-refuses-to-surrender?t=172) But do not try to buy too much with it today. [2:56](https://www.translate.mom/transcript/D7RsRxLQrwif/en/omar-mukhtar-confronts-the-italian-commander-and-refuses-to-surrender?t=176) Your money, just like your glories, is not eternal. [3:03](https://www.translate.mom/transcript/D7RsRxLQrwif/en/omar-mukhtar-confronts-the-italian-commander-and-refuses-to-surrender?t=183) But I respect your past, and you must respect ours. [3:07](https://www.translate.mom/transcript/D7RsRxLQrwif/en/omar-mukhtar-confronts-the-italian-commander-and-refuses-to-surrender?t=187) We, too, have a history and sciences, mathematics and medicine. [3:15](https://www.translate.mom/transcript/D7RsRxLQrwif/en/omar-mukhtar-confronts-the-italian-commander-and-refuses-to-surrender?t=195) During your Dark Ages, we led the world in knowledge. [3:22](https://www.translate.mom/transcript/D7RsRxLQrwif/en/omar-mukhtar-confronts-the-italian-commander-and-refuses-to-surrender?t=202) How many days will you need to arrange your men's surrender? [3:28](https://www.translate.mom/transcript/D7RsRxLQrwif/en/omar-mukhtar-confronts-the-italian-commander-and-refuses-to-surrender?t=208) We will not surrender. [3:32](https://www.translate.mom/transcript/D7RsRxLQrwif/en/omar-mukhtar-confronts-the-italian-commander-and-refuses-to-surrender?t=212) We will win or die. And do not think this is the end. [3:38](https://www.translate.mom/transcript/D7RsRxLQrwif/en/omar-mukhtar-confronts-the-italian-commander-and-refuses-to-surrender?t=218) You will have to fight the next generation and the generations that follow it. [3:44](https://www.translate.mom/transcript/D7RsRxLQrwif/en/omar-mukhtar-confronts-the-italian-commander-and-refuses-to-surrender?t=224) As for me, my life will be longer than my companion's life. [3:50](https://www.translate.mom/transcript/D7RsRxLQrwif/en/omar-mukhtar-confronts-the-italian-commander-and-refuses-to-surrender?t=230) Why do you think I will hang you? [3:56](https://www.translate.mom/transcript/D7RsRxLQrwif/en/omar-mukhtar-confronts-the-italian-commander-and-refuses-to-surrender?t=236) Perhaps it would be better for me to grant you a pension if I hang you, I might make a martyr of you, but I must make an example of you. [4:08](https://www.translate.mom/transcript/D7RsRxLQrwif/en/omar-mukhtar-confronts-the-italian-commander-and-refuses-to-surrender?t=248) You will do nothing to me except what God has decreed for me. [4:15](https://www.translate.mom/transcript/D7RsRxLQrwif/en/omar-mukhtar-confronts-the-italian-commander-and-refuses-to-surrender?t=255) These chains are annoying. They are an annoying reality. [4:23](https://www.translate.mom/transcript/D7RsRxLQrwif/en/omar-mukhtar-confronts-the-italian-commander-and-refuses-to-surrender?t=263) Sit down. [4:27](https://www.translate.mom/transcript/D7RsRxLQrwif/en/omar-mukhtar-confronts-the-italian-commander-and-refuses-to-surrender?t=267) Thank you. [4:34](https://www.translate.mom/transcript/D7RsRxLQrwif/en/omar-mukhtar-confronts-the-italian-commander-and-refuses-to-surrender?t=274) You know? I always hoped that we, you and I The two bitter enemies. [4:44](https://www.translate.mom/transcript/D7RsRxLQrwif/en/omar-mukhtar-confronts-the-italian-commander-and-refuses-to-surrender?t=284) One day, we’ll sit together as prisoners. [4:47](https://www.translate.mom/transcript/D7RsRxLQrwif/en/omar-mukhtar-confronts-the-italian-commander-and-refuses-to-surrender?t=287) Let’s look for Caesar, Jarrar. Omar Mukhtar will not grant you Caesar’s conquests. [4:55](https://www.translate.mom/transcript/D7RsRxLQrwif/en/omar-mukhtar-confronts-the-italian-commander-and-refuses-to-surrender?t=295) I’ve chased you for a long time. [4:59](https://www.translate.mom/transcript/D7RsRxLQrwif/en/omar-mukhtar-confronts-the-italian-commander-and-refuses-to-surrender?t=299) I mean, I know you, and you know me. An idea. [5:04](https://www.translate.mom/transcript/D7RsRxLQrwif/en/omar-mukhtar-confronts-the-italian-commander-and-refuses-to-surrender?t=304) Can’t we work together for peace? [5:09](https://www.translate.mom/transcript/D7RsRxLQrwif/en/omar-mukhtar-confronts-the-italian-commander-and-refuses-to-surrender?t=309) And today is the day I work for you. Aren’t you asking me for your life? [5:17](https://www.translate.mom/transcript/D7RsRxLQrwif/en/omar-mukhtar-confronts-the-italian-commander-and-refuses-to-surrender?t=317) Perhaps I’ll give you like this. And what will I give you? [5:28](https://www.translate.mom/transcript/D7RsRxLQrwif/en/omar-mukhtar-confronts-the-italian-commander-and-refuses-to-surrender?t=328) My cooperation. [5:34](https://www.translate.mom/transcript/D7RsRxLQrwif/en/omar-mukhtar-confronts-the-italian-commander-and-refuses-to-surrender?t=334) No. [5:40](https://www.translate.mom/transcript/D7RsRxLQrwif/en/omar-mukhtar-confronts-the-italian-commander-and-refuses-to-surrender?t=340) No. The time for bargaining is over, Mukhtar. [5:44](https://www.translate.mom/transcript/D7RsRxLQrwif/en/omar-mukhtar-confronts-the-italian-commander-and-refuses-to-surrender?t=344) Your time is over. I never asked you for my life. [5:49](https://www.translate.mom/transcript/D7RsRxLQrwif/en/omar-mukhtar-confronts-the-italian-commander-and-refuses-to-surrender?t=349) Don’t tell the world that, in the privacy of this room, I begged you for my life. No. [5:59](https://www.translate.mom/transcript/D7RsRxLQrwif/en/omar-mukhtar-confronts-the-italian-commander-and-refuses-to-surrender?t=359) I won’t say that. [6:02](https://www.translate.mom/transcript/D7RsRxLQrwif/en/omar-mukhtar-confronts-the-italian-commander-and-refuses-to-surrender?t=362) I won’t lie for you.
