Critique of Delhi Police Actions
I want to ask the people
who are saying that the Delhi Police was only doing its duty.
When General Dyer had the freedom fighters killed in Jallianwala Bagh,
he was also only
doing his duty. James Scott, who was a British Police Superintendent,
when he rained baton blows on Lala Lajpat Rai, he was also only doing his duty.
When SHO Naveen Rathi is hitting a girl from behind with a baton,
is he also doing his duty?
When you are throwing expired tear gas shells, is that also your duty?
When you are hitting children with batons fitted with nails, is that also your duty?
Perhaps you have another duty that you have forgotten,
protecting the lives of the people of Delhi.
And today, a 21- year-
old girl who went to the protest, She is fighting for her life on a ventilator at
RML Hospital because you failed to do your duty, Delhi Police. You have neither
integrity nor respect left now.
