Analysis of Houthi Threats in Yemen

Ladies and gentlemen, this

coup could not have continued for all these years,

nor could its threat have spread from Yemen to

neighboring countries and international waterways,

were it not for the support received by

the Houthi militias from the rogue Iranian regime

in weapons, expertise, and military technology.

The world's reluctance to designate

the Houthis a terrorist group

was a valuable opportunity to expand their influence

and increase their threat. We have seen

how decisive action, when used,

weakens them. The Saudi-led Coalition

to Restore Legitimacy contributed

Decisively in reducing the dangers of this

group through the support it provides

to the Yemeni government, thereby

contributing to strengthening the region's security and stability

and that of the world. We believe

that the decisive approach of the U.S.

administration in dealing with the Houthi militia has

thrown off its calculations,

and therefore, we in the Yemeni government

appreciate President Trump's

correct understanding of the language this

terrorist group understands: the language of decisiveness,

for it is the only language that needs no translation

mistakenly. We also appreciate every friendly country

that takes that decisive stance.

We have international legitimacy

and its resolutions,

but resolutions alone do not make peace.

An international resolution without—without the will

to implement it does not stop a war,

rather, it prolongs a marathon of negotiations in which

only terrorism makes progress.

Peace is not a wish to be hoped for,

but a firm will and action that deter

those who threaten the country's security and stability.
