Brazil Election: Claims About Lula, Bolsonaro and Poll Hours
Here's what you need to know about the
elections in Brazil last night because, oh
my God. So on October 6th, you
had the first round of presidential
elections.
Right-winger Flávio Bolsonaro
won 47% of the vote.
Radical left-winger and current president,
Luiz Lula de Silva, won 45% of the vote.
But because neither party got over 50%,
they had to do a second round, and last
night Lula got 51% of the
vote and Flávio got 48.
And that's just so odd because it's
the first time since their
return to democracy
in 1989 where a candidate who won the
first round would lose in the second.
And lefty Lula didn't just win,
he crushed, gaining 11 million votes in
the second round. So here's the drama.
The 213 cities that chose Flávio in the
first round
suddenly switched and
chose Lula in the second.
He was confirmed at 9:00 PM.
But earlier that day,
lefty Lula filed a lawsuit with the
Supreme Federal
Court saying that people were having
trouble getting to the polls
due to heavy
rain. So his minister
of the Supreme Court,
Cristiano, ordered the polls to stay
open until 7:00 PM, but only the polls
that had not yet closed.
So if you'd already
closed up your poll shop,
well then, tough luck.
But the big fat problem is that Brazil
is huge and spans across multiple time
zones, and in areas where
Bolsonaro would've led,
the polls had already closed
up. Okay. But the
areas that Lula needed more votes in
were in different time
zones and were allowed to stay
open, all thanks to this guy, Cristiano,
who loves to give big hugs to Lula because
they're very good friends.
In fact, Cristiano used
to be a defense attorney
and represented Lula and got him
back into politics after he was
jailed in 2019 for money laundering,
embezzlement, and corruption. Oh, isn't that lovely?
So there you go, he won,
even though the public was behind Flávio,
potentially
because of very shady
last minute rule changes.
And now poor Flávio is trying to annul the election,
but it probably won't happen.
And actually, the drama goes
deeper because Flávio's dad
used to be president.
In 2022, Flávio's dad lost to lefty Lula,
and he, knowing that Lula is
one of the most corrupt politicians
there is, tried
to question the results and stay in power.
For that, they called
it a coup, and he was sent to jail for 27 years.
He's still in jail right now,
but everyone knows that's ridiculous,
which is why
his wife and his son, Carlos, got elected to Senate,
and his other son won a seat
in the House, and his other son, Flávio,
almost got elected to the presidency.
But of course, he didn't
because lefty Lula had his
friend pull some strings and
keep the polls open that he needed.
Now, this looks pretty shady to me, wouldn't you say?
But you can't say because
they'll call you crazy,
and corruption's only fine when
the left does it. In fact,
the left is celebrating, of course.
Even our
Hollywood left is celebrating.
They're doing this,
which I don't think this means what they
think it means.
L for Lula or L for losers? So
this is all just great. I don't know.
It's very sad what's happening.
Hopefully, the right
can get 'em next time.
But just know that if our
Democrats get power,
they will stack the Supreme Court
with judges they like, make DC and
Puerto Rico states so they can get
more Senate
seats, and they will mandate ballot harvesting
across the country because they told
us they would. And yet, the
entire time they'll claim you,
a Republican, is the
true fascist simply for
breathing. So that's the drama going on in Brazil.
Sorry, Brazil. Love y'all.
