In the name of Allah, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful.
Ha-Mim.
By the clear Book.
Indeed, We
sent it down on a blessed night.
Indeed, We have been warners.
In it, every wise matter is decreed.
A command from Us, a command
from Us. Indeed, We have been
senders. A mercy from your Lord.
Indeed, He is the All-Hearing,
the All-Knowing. Lord of the heavens
and the earth and all that is between them, if
you are certain.
There is no god but Him. He gives life and causes death.
Your Lord and the Lord of your forefathers,
the former. Yet they are in doubt,
playing. So watch for the Day
when the sky brings forth a smoke
that is clear. It will envelop the people. This is
a painful punishment. Our Lord, remove
the punishment from us. Indeed, we are
believers. How can they be reminded
when a clear Messenger
has come to them? Then they turned away
from him and said, “Taught,
mad.” Indeed, We will remove the punishment
for a little while. Indeed, you will
return. On the Day
We seize with the greatest seizure,
indeed, We will take revenge. And We certainly
tested before them the people of Pharaoh.
And a Messenger
noble came to them. “Deliver
to me the servants of Allah. Indeed, I am for you
a trustworthy messenger. And do not be arrogant
toward Allah. Indeed, I
bring you clear authority.
Indeed, I
seek refuge in my Lord and your Lord from your returning.
And if you do not believe me,
then keep away from me.” So he called upon his Lord,
“These are a people
who are criminals.” So set out by night with My servants.
Indeed, you will be pursued.
Leave the sea calm, for they are
soldiers
who will be drowned. How many
gardens
and springs, and fields
and noble dwellings
and comforts they used to
enjoy. So it was,
and We gave them as inheritance to other
people. Neither the heaven nor the earth wept for them,
nor were they reprieved. And We certainly saved
the Children of Israel from the
humiliating punishment
of Pharaoh.
Indeed, he was arrogant, among
the transgressors. And We certainly chose them
knowingly over all peoples.
And We gave them signs containing
a trial
made clear. Indeed,
these people
surely say, "There is
nothing but our first death, and we will not be
resurrected. Then bring
our forefathers
if you are truthful." Are they
better, or the people of Tubbaʿ and those before
them? We destroyed them,
for they were.
