Six press conferences in nine days as Real Madrid coach.
This week I have had more press conferences than training sessions.
And several statements that clearly show what path he is following. At Real Madrid
there are 120… 23 years of history
and it is hard for them to ever admit that you have played well, right?
On January 13, at his presentation,
Wearing this crest is the best thing that can happen to you in life.
Wearing this crest is the best thing that can happen to you in life.
Every day I have spent at the best club in the world, at the best club in history,
has been a special day for me.
A grandiloquent speech even after being knocked out of the Copa del Rey.
Here at this club, a draw is already… it is bad, it is a tragedy. So imagine a
defeat like this. I am not here to… mmm… Pad a résumé, right?
I am here to help the club to...
I am here to help the club to...
to keep being the best in the world,
to have more trophies in the cabinets.
And first mention of Florentino Pérez.
No, I do not think the club president needs me to explain anything to him.
He knows much more than I do about all this, with all the experience he has.
He has been president for 25 years and many more as a Madrid fan. Two days later,
he did not leave anyone indifferent with his early arrival in Valdebebas.
— You did not see me come in, did you?
— No, not me, I have been sleeping until now.
That is because back then in Castilla you did not see me come in either.
Nor when he remembered Juanito for the first time.
Juanito once said that 90 minuti in the Bernabéu are molto longo.
And he left another sentence full of symbolism.
That is the Real Madrid mentality. The past does not exist.
When you win the European Cup and when Albacete knocks you out.
You have to think about the next match. That is Real Madrid.
After the match with the booing against Levante, he commented…
… one of the most viral images that has left us so far:
the man from Salamanca watching and stopping to enjoy the great
the man from Salamanca watching and stopping to enjoy the great
Y bueno, pues uno siente
in an instant what Real Madrid is. And again, a staunch defense of his president.
The boos are not from people who do not love Florentino,
they are from people who do not love… Real Madrid, right?
He is the most important person along with Santiago Bernabéu in the history of…
of this club. Seven European Cups,
I think he has more than 60 titles… … between the soccer team and the…
he brought up another one of the club’s great dogmas.
People often talk about the magical comebacks of Real Madrid.
January 20 was his last appearance.
After the big Champions League win, he again placed the club above himself.
And to spell out in every detail what it means to be a Madridista.
And to spell out in every detail what it means to be a Madridista.
about passion, about character, about mentality, about ambition, about effort.
That is Real Madrid and… Álvaro Arbeloa, a club man.

Y primera mención a Florentino Pérez.
—No me habrás visto entrar, ¿no? —No, yo no, yo he estado durmiendo hasta ahora.
