PH Pays Tribute to DJ Warras After His Fatal Shooting

Shocking what has taken place here today. Condolences

to the family, to you as colleagues and friends.

This is absolutely devastating today. Um, still

a shock. Big shock. Um, was talking to the guy

earlier, well, last night. We recorded our last

episode for our podcast, but we were chatting

like we always do. Um, yeah, man, it was...

it's a shock, you know. The family is still

trying to piece everything together. We're still

on the site. Obviously, still an investigation.

But extremely sad. Like you explained, he's

a ball of energy, an amazing gent. I can't even

put it in the past tense to say "was", you know.

Um, opinionated, but, uh, a solid gent, you

know. Loving father to his kids. Loving father

to his kids. Um, all-round great guy. Uh, got

to experience that guy, you know, a million

times fold. And it is a massive shock. It's

a massive shock, yeah. And I mean, you spent,

uh, you spoke to him just a couple of hours,

uh, prior to this. I mean, you know, he was

so talented. He's worked for a number of radio

stations. Geez, he was so bubbly. He had opinions

about everything, right?

And I think those are things that we're going

to remember. But I mean, the family, uh, we

saw a few moments ago, they're obviously very

devastated. There are others that are still

being informed, but we have been given the go-ahead,

of course, to indicate that... ...it is DJ Warras

that has been shot and killed. I mean, just

explain to us... ...you know, his, uh, his bubbly

personality. You know, he's worked for a number

of radio stations. That opinion, you know, and

what we will miss most about DJ Warras. Ah,

like you said, great broadcaster. He, um, had

an amazing stint at YFM. He was at 5FM as well.

Uh, we had ventured into podcasting... ...um,

for about the last two years. Uh, also just

a great businessman as well. He had other ventures,

which is security. Uh, all of the events that

I did, he did the security for me. Great mind,

strategic mind. It is... it's hard to speak

about this guy that he's not here, you know.

Um, but again, an amazing, amazing father. Like,

one of... one of the... ...you know, most caring

guys. You do anything for his kids. Um, great

businessman. Yeah, it's hard... it's hard to

speak about him that he's not here, but we're

going to miss him. The family is still shocked,

everyone is still shocked, and, um, yeah. It's

a tough one to swallow. Yeah. Perhaps could

you talk to us about how you were informed about

what happened... ...and what you understood

about what he was doing when the incident took

place?

Uh, look, I don't want to go into that, uh,

for now. I think the family will release a statement.

Uh, I did get a call immediately once those

things... once it happened from... ...uh, a

close... a close, um, friend and colleague...

...um, who was obviously, I think, either in

the vicinity. And yeah, it's just... it's, again,

still a shock. Still a shock. PH, thank you

very much. And, uh, condolences once again to,

uh, all of you... ...and, uh, your families

as well. I know that the family is still incredibly

shocked at this stage. Thank you.
