Political Analysis of Lula and Bolsonaro
I want to share with you a reflection on what happened yesterday.
Yesterday, the difference between Lula and Flávio
Bolsonaro was not about
competence, and it was not about résumés.
First, Flávio Bolsonaro, we need to remind all of
Brazilian
society that he is the person linked to the largest
corruption scheme ever seen in Brazil, the largest
money laundering scheme, the largest bank fraud scheme.
Flávio Bolsonaro is involved with Banco Master.
Flávio Bolsonaro has a kickback scheme.
Flávio Bolsonaro is the person who sends, uh, 200,000 reais in a budget amendment
to the person who ordered Marielle Franco killed.
Flávio Bolsonaro is the person who, uh, defends, anyway, people who
kill children. So, Flávio Bolsonaro, his running mate,
you know, is— is accused of rape. So this is the résumé of
person. And so I want to offer a reflection that
I've been trying to bring up
on social media all the time.
Go to a bus stop, because sometimes what's lacking,
even for the left itself
here, is a feel for reality.
Go to a bus stop at six in the evening,
which is more or less rush hour,
and see if there's anyone without their hand on their phone.
And I'm not saying that rallies in the streets, taking to the streets, aren't important.
I'm telling you that if you don't have a presence on social media, the world may
be great, the economy may be great, purchasing power may be great, but
if there's someone here on social media saying the world is shit,
people
will believe it. There are many times when President Luiz
Inácio Lula da Silva doesn't
He did nothing during his term. And there are countless things he did, like Pix
pension payments, like the betting ban now, among other
things. I'm talking about the most recent things,
but he did a lot.
But what happens is that social media here thinks the world is a mess?
Because those who dominate social media here, those who are dominating the narrative,
are saying the world is a mess.
So even if the economy is doing well, even if everything is good, people
can't understand this reality, that the world is actually doing well, because
those who dominate the narrative here are saying it's bad.
I would really like to make an appeal to the entire left.
It's time for us to truly set aside ignorance,
put on the sandals of humility and understand that with the network
We do need to learn social media, yes.
It's not that, uh, it isn't important to hold rallies in the streets,
or to go out into the streets. That's not it.
It's understanding that there is no longer a separation between social media and the streets.
Those in the streets are online, and often, those who are online
aren't
in the streets. So organizing a movement in the streets,
often,
is pointless, it's pointless. Does it show political strength? Yes.
Do we need movements in the streets?
We do too, but we also need a movement
online.
This is the time to sit down with people who know how to work social media, come onto
social media and talk to the people who are here.
Often, and this really upsets me,
the camp didn't like what Janones
said, what I've been saying. But that's it, folks. The discussion is here.
Life is being shaped by the screen of the phone, not by the street.
The way to get Flávio's voter to vote for Lula is to try to
show Flávio's voter why Flávio is bad and that they should not
vote for
Flávio. We don't need to make anything up about
Flávio.
Unlike them, we don't need to create a whole realm of
fake news.
We have the facts. We just need to control the narratives.
I think it has proven itself that social media does get people elected.
It's not that the left is weak, that young people are outside of, of
politics. I've said this many times.
Discouraging young people makes them go to the other side.
The progressive camp loses a lot when it tries to discredit young people.
That's why I'm speaking here to you.
More than 524,000 votes I got yesterday.
Uh—it's not that the left is weak, the left needs new stereotypes,
the
left needs new representation.
People want new representation, people want to see themselves in those places of
power.
It’s not that people want to see a fight, people want to see combat, people want to be
defended, people want to see themselves in those places,
people want to dream, because people
deserve to dream. And this is what it means to make people dream.
Putting— re-electing Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva so that
I can have a much easier
term, so that I can carry the banner of
youth, the banner of the Black population,
so that we can also, once and for all, understand that young people are
indeed on our side. It’s just that sometimes investment is lacking.
And we need to invest.
Invest in young people, which is a field that is still, you know,
contested.
It’s not that the right has already won. The field is contested.
We need to go after that now.
And it’s not just about going after it in the streets, it’s about understanding that social media is not
something to be looked down on. In fact, social media is the solution.
And I’m making available my social media accounts and everything I
learned here, because even though this field here
has often
been looked down on by many people, I understand that this is a
process of building. Folks, the grassroots aren’t just in the streets anymore.
The grassroots are on Instagram and TikTok, yes.
People are on Instagram and TikTok.
So even though we have enacted countless public policies, it’s no use if we
don’t bring them here to social media.
Count on me for whatever you need.
I thank all my voters, and that's it.
We'll win in the runoff. A comeback is even sweeter.

social a gente precisa, sim, aprender.
vote no Flávio.
o povo quer sonhar, porque o povo merece sonhar.
E a gente precisa investir.
disputado. Não é que a direita já ganhou. O campo está disputado. A gente precisa agora correr atrás disso.
Vamos vencer no segundo turno. De virada é mais gostoso
