Quoi ?
Assieds-toi.
Je ne…
Assieds-toi.
Je suis debout juste ici.
Non, assieds-toi sur ma voiture.
Pourquoi ?
Tu commences—
Non, me touche pas, frère.
Non, écoute-moi.
Me touche pas.
D’accord, tu sais quoi ? Retourne-toi. Mets tes— je, je te retiens.

Pourquoi tu me fais ça ?
Mince, pourquoi tu m'as tasé, les gars ?
Tu viens juste
d'essayer

tried to kill me. Official acts of a police officer who was shot and killed nearly two weeks ago. Good evening, I'm Blair Miller. Take a look and you will see Sergeant Chris Fisher arresting
Jimmy Steverson on August 27th at this gas station in Warm Springs. Steverson shot and killed Sergeant Fisher days after this happened. He was found dead hours later in South Carolina after authorities say he shot himself. Atlanta News first anchor, Joe Gorchow,
is here in studio tonight. This newly released video also shows Sergeant Fisher tussling with Steverson before placing him eventually under arrest, right? And Blair, we just got it with- into the newsroom within the last hour,
and there's over an hour worth of footage, Blair, that we're combing through right now detailing some of the things you were just mentioning, showing not just the arrest, but a brief conversation between Sergeant Fisher and other law
enforcement officers. So on August 27th, again, you're seeing some of the body cam video now of that arrest. Sergeant Christopher Fisher pulled over 23-year-old Jimmy Lee Steverson at a Marathon gas station after smelling marijuana. Steverson said he was smoking a Black and Mild when he was then asked to get out of his truck.
Again, that's in a different body cam video clip that we do have in our newsroom that we're working, again, going through all the video, and we will be presenting that to you throughout our different shows,
especially beginning in the morning. Now, investigators say Steverson admitted to drinking and became combative during a physical search. That was some of that gas station surveillance video we had
at the beginning of the show, the top of it, where you saw some of that interaction where Steverson refused to stay seated on Fisher's patrol car. I don't know if we can call that up and go back to that.
It was the beginning, one of the first clips we showed. Investigators said that the officer tried to detain him, sparking a physical struggle. Now, we're not seeing that play out. Is there any way we can go to that clip, the first one? So we can't.
So we are working to get that to you later in the show. Uh, eventually Fisher did strike Steverson. There was, uh, hand-to-hand combat, uh, in that report that we're referencing. Again, you're not seeing that in this video here. And days later, on September 1st, Steverson shot and killed Fisher, if you
recall, while he was sitting in his patrol car. Steverson took his own life hours later in Anderson, South Carolina. Again, that was just a small snippet of the video we received from the Warm Springs Police Department.
We still have at least an hour's worth of footage that we're digging through. Why Steverson got out of his truck, or what led up to them getting into a tussle? I also wanna note, I'd asked for Sergeant Fisher's body cam footage for days
now, and I asked again today with this new video coming to light, but was once again told it won't be released until, quote, "The investigation is final or terminated." Surveillance video from a gas station recorded by Jimmy Steverson's brother shows who the family says is Sergeant
Fisher at his driver's side window on August 27th at 10:43 PM. The cellphone then pans down, and moments later we see Steverson sitting on the hood of Sergeant Fisher's patrol car. Then in this video, timestamped at 10:46, you see what looks like Steverson and Sergeant Fisher arguing before Steverson is pushed back onto the
hood of the car. Two minutes later, you see Sergeant Fisher pull what the family says was his taser and tase Steverson in the back while his hands were up before he brings Steverson to the ground and handcuffs him. Now, what happened in those two minutes is unclear, but according to arrest
warrants, Steverson allegedly punched Sergeant Fisher in the face, something the family admits he told them he did. Now, the family member I talked with admits what Steverson did was wrong, and that
they have a lot of respect for law enforcement.
