Analysis of Religious Text Excerpt

Blessed is He in whose hand is all dominion, and He has power over

all things.

He who created death and life

to test which of you is best in deeds.

And He is the Almighty, the Forgiving. He who

created seven layered heavens.

You see no inconsistency in the creation of the Most Merciful.

So look again, do you see

any flaws? Then look again.

Look twice, and your sight will return to you

humbled and exhausted.

And We have certainly adorned the lowest

heaven with lamps, and made them

missiles against the devils,

and prepared for them the punishment of the Blaze.

And for those who disbelieve in their Lord is the punishment of

Hell, and wretched is the destination.

When

they are thrown into it, they will hear it roaring

as it boils, almost

bursting with rage.

Whenever

a group is thrown into it, its keepers will ask them,

its keepers will ask them,

“Did no warner come to you?” They will say,

“Yes, a warner did come to us,

but we denied and said, ‘God has not sent down

anything.’ We denied

and said, ‘God has not sent down anything.

You are only in grave

error.’”

And they will say, “Had we listened or

understood, we would not have been among the companions of

the Blaze.” So they will confess

their sin. Away with the companions of

the Blaze. Indeed,

those who fear their Lord in secret

will have forgiveness and a reward

great.

Whether you conceal your words or speak them aloud,

He knows what is within

what is within the breasts?

He is the Most Subtle, All-Aware. He is the One

who made the earth manageable for you, so walk on

its paths and eat of His provision, and to Him

is the resurrection.

Do you feel secure from Him in heaven

that He will not cause the earth to swallow you, and then it

will tremble?

Or do you feel secure from Him in heaven

that He will not send upon you a storm of stones?

Then you will know how true My warning was.

Those before them also denied,

so how terrible was My reproach! Have they not

seen the birds above them,

spreading their wings

and folding them in? None

holds them up except

the Most Merciful. Indeed, He sees all

things. Or who is

there that could be an army for you

to help you besides

the Most Merciful?

The disbelievers are only in delusion.

Or who is there that can provide for you if

He withholds His provision? Yet they persist in arrogance

and aversion. Is one who walks

fallen on his face better guided,

or one who walks upright

better guided?

Or one who walks upright on a straight

path? Say, “He is the One

who brought you into being and gave you hearing,

sight, and hearts, little

thanks do you give.” Say, “He is the One

who spread you throughout the earth, and to Him

you will be gathered.” And they say,

“When will this promise come true, if you are

truthful?” Say,

“Knowledge is only with

Allah, and I am only

a clear warner.”

But when they see it approaching,

the faces of those who disbelieved will be distressed

And it will be said, “This is what you

used to call for.”

Say, “Have you considered if Allah were to destroy me

and those with me, or have mercy on us, then who will protect

the disbelievers from a painful punishment?”

Say, “He is the Most Merciful. We believe in Him

and place our trust in Him.

You will come to know who is in clear

error. Say, “Have you considered if

your water were to sink into the ground,

then who

could bring you flowing water?”
