Ladies and Gentlemen,

on World Cancer Day I want to express my solidarity with those whose world has

been shaken who have heard the diagnosis: cancer.

And with those who have been fighting a tumor for many months or years.

I know how enormously important, alongside treatment,

a kind word and the presence of another person are. It is a gift beyond measure.

In every darkness you must be able to see the light.

Even if the illness changes everyday life, may it never take away the joy

of life and the hope that everything will be all right.

It is worth giving yourself a chance,

knowing everything about yourself, having regular checkups. Let us be brave.

That is strength too.
