Religious Lesson on Accountability

When We intend to destroy a town, We command its affluent people, and they defiantly disobey within it.

When We intend to destroy a town, We command its affluent people, and they defiantly disobey.

Then the decree against it is fulfilled, and We destroy it utterly.

Our Lord, do not hold us accountable for what the foolish among us have done.

Indeed, those who offend God and His Messenger, God has cursed them in this world

and the Hereafter, and prepared for them a humiliating punishment.

Forgive me, brothers.

I cannot deliver today's lesson.

How can I deliver today's lesson when God and His Messenger are being insulted openly?

By God, I fear that a just punishment may befall us

for the laxity we see regarding God's rights, concerning God and concerning

His Messenger, peace and blessings be upon him.

Beloved ones.

The insolent have overstepped against God, Glorious and Exalted is He.

The foolish have overstepped against the Messenger of God, peace and blessings be upon him.

And we see what is happening in many lands:

strife, calamity, killing, and destruction.
