The USA and Israel are waging a war of aggression against Iran in violation of international law.
Are athletes and artists from the USA and Israel
excluded from sports and cultural events?
No, of course not.
Germany supplies weapons to Israel despite the genocide of the Palestinians and the policy of expulsion
in Lebanon.
Are German athletes and artists excluded?
No, of course not.
Should artists and athletes from the USA, Israel, and Germany be excluded?
No, they should not.
But this must not apply to Russians and Belarusians either.
Only they are banned from taking part in international sporting events
for political reasons.
And now Ms. Kalas wants to have the Biennale in Venice sanctioned because
Russian art is exhibited there.
This is nothing but hatred of Russians, which recalls the worst Nazi times.
Anyone who cultivates this racism and hatred calls Europe itself into question.
This must come to an end.
Sport and culture bring people together, and that is exactly what we need today more than ever.
Thank you very much.

Vielen Dank.
