Emotional Victory Speech After World Cup Win
It's absolute madness, honestly. If you had
told me a few years ago that at 18 I'd be standing here lifting the World Cup,
after playing against Leo Messi in a final, I would have told you you were crazy.
And right now I'm trying not to cry,
because this is a moment I've dreamed of my whole life.
This victory is for my family,
for Rocafonda and for every person in Spain who supported us and pushed us
in every difficult minute of this tournament.
Playing against Leo on a stage like this was surreal,
he is the greatest in history and someone I have always admired.
When the final whistle blew, my first instinct was to go…
show him all my respect and he was incredibly generous,
He shook my hand and told me to keep going forward because the future belongs to our generation.
Hearing those words from his mouth is something I will carry with me for the rest of my career.
It almost feels as great as the gold medal hanging around my neck.
