Actor's Award Acceptance and Future Plans

Yes, hello. I'm Lee Junho.

You've received the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism's Jeonggwan Award.

Please share a few words about receiving it.

Well, first of all,

to receive such a meaningful award

is a tremendous honor.

Since it's an award presented by the nation,

going forward, as both a singer and an actor,

I want to be able to promote K-content

more widely and take on that responsibility.

And going forward,

I want to greet everyone with good work.

Thank you very much.

Looking at works like <i>The Red Sleeve</i>, <i>Typhoon Company</i>, and <i>Cashero</i>,

you seem to be one of the few actors whose characters make people remember the work.

So I'm curious where that kind of strength comes from.

First of all, that's really high praise, and I truly

think I'm someone who tries to immerse myself in a work as much as possible.

So, with every work, moment by moment,

whenever I meet a new character,

I immerse myself completely in that character

when filming the project,

so I think those aspects naturally come through.

And because people seem to love those aspects,

I'm very proud.

The works you've appeared in have been loved not only in Korea, but also overseas.

Why do you think K-dramas are loved around the world?

I don't think there's just one reason,

so I'm always very curious about what people find appealing

and why they love them.

So, at this time when we're receiving so much love,

I want to greet everyone with even better work,

but I don't really know the reason myself.

I don't know, but I'll do better…

I hope to receive even more love through good projects.

I hear you have upcoming appearances in the new series <i>Viking</i> and <i>Foreign Embassy in Korea</i>.

What is the most important criterion you consider when choosing a project?

Actually, when choosing a project and preparing to begin filming, um,

I think it differs each time.

Whether it is a side of myself I have not shown before,

or whether there is something new I want to challenge myself with,

or

whether the story this drama, this project is trying to tell

conveys a message to those of us living in the present,

I consider things like that and, um,

carefully choose each project based on new criteria.

You have proven the title of a reliably great actor over the years.

As a leading actor driving the Korean Wave, what message would you like to convey on the global stage going forward?

I hope to work even harder and do even better

to become an actor people can always count on.

Through my work, I want viewers who watch it

to always experience a range of emotions vividly

through the projects and performances I present.

Going forward, whenever people need healing or some kind of

emotion, I hope they will watch my work and, um,

find renewed healing through it.

And as they experience emotions through it,

I hope it can be a time of vicarious satisfaction for them.

Finally, please say a few words to your fans.
