Debate on Messi vs Maradona Legacy

For you guys, is Messi the second greatest in history? Can we say that or not?

I can.

Is he the second greatest in history?

For me, yes. For me, yes.

He surpassed Maradona, surpassed everyone for you?

For me, yes, for me, yes, today.

Man, I...

For you, Bebeto?

Oh, man, I...

Maradona too...

It's hard, right?

It really is, yeah...

I don't think so, I don't think so.

I think Maradona was more of an artist.

Yeah, that's it.

He's of the people, right?

But...

Messi is more of a player to get the job done.

For you, is he the second greatest in history?

It's hard to say, but it's hard, man.

Imagine if some Argentine...

After I invented it, right?

Winning is good, but beating Argentina is much better,

when I go to broadcast at La Bombonera, they curse at me, the whole stadium.

It's a party.

I'm not getting involved in their fight, let them work it out.

Is he the greatest, is he the second greatest?

I also have that doubt about them, and Maradona.

I played against Maradona, he was spectacular.

Messi too.

I think there's nothing like them in your generation.

And they are different things, right?

When you talk about Cristiano Ronaldo and Messi.

I always say, Messi is a gift from God.

Cristiano Ronaldo...

I tell my son, never try to be Messi, because you won't be.

Now, Cristiano Ronaldo, you can be like him in life.

Because he is the ultimate example of a human being saying,

I will conquer, but I need to work.

So, to my family, when I say this, I mean Cristiano Ronaldo.

Because Messi is beyond all that.

Messi is a phenomenon.
