Testimony of Violence in Ramallah

This house is in the village of Turmus Ayya, north of Ram Allah. It was stormed by

a number of Hilltop Youth settlers, with a woman inside.

This woman described the extent of the horrors

committed by the settlers inside this house, as they tried to burn it down while she was inside, and also

threw stones and tried to burn down the house while she was inside.

What happened, by God, brother, is just as you see. We were sitting safely

in our home.

All I heard was stones coming down.

The stones hit us, stones came into the house, the whole

stairwell was

full of stones. Look, look. They burned us.

They attacked us. I don't know how much longer we'll

have to endure this.

How much terror there was inside. How much terror you experienced.

So much, so much. I couldn't handle being alone in the house.

I couldn't handle being alone in the house. I didn't know what to do.

I was going upstairs and downstairs. Stones. Stones. Stones. Stones.

More than ten.

More than ten, the ones throwing stones.

What are you demanding from them?

I'm demanding protection. I'm demanding safety.

It’s not that simple. We’re living in terror.

We’re living in... in pain.

I don’t know how a settler can go on for four

twenty hours, coming and going, coming and going, threatening me and swearing

to me

“I’ll beat you,” and I don’t know what else. How long are we going to live like this?

We can’t go out. We can’t go anywhere or come back. We’re trapped in this house.

How long? How long are we going to stay in this situation? How long?

How long will people stay silent?

I don’t know what to say.
