Saudi Arabia's Stance on Yemen Conflict

My country affirms its legitimate right to defend itself and

its citizens and residents on its territory and to safeguard

its national assets. My country will not hesitate

to take all necessary measures to deter Houthi attacks

and protect its security, sovereignty, and territorial integrity

in accordance with the United Nations Charter and international law.

The Kingdom's position toward Yemen will remain steadfast:

preserving Yemen's unity, sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity,

and supporting a comprehensive and sustainable political solution led

by Yemenis that fulfills the aspirations of the brotherly Yemeni people for

security, stability, and prosperity.

Peace requires a partner who believes in it.

Targeting civilians, threatening neighboring countries,

endangering international navigation, and using force

to impose a fait accompli cannot be a path to peace.

Accordingly, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia calls on this Council to

send a clear and firm message that leaves no room

for interpretation that targeting the Kingdom must

stop, and military escalation within Yemen must

stop, and threats to international navigation must

stop. Whoever chooses to continue this

aggressive and criminal approach must bear

responsibility for its consequences.
