It was far too great.

You have shouldered far too much,

and gone through so many hardships.

You are our service members. Especially this year,

on the unexpected disease prevention front,

and on the natural disaster recovery front, the patriotic and heroic

devotion our Korean People’s Army service members

have shown is something no one can face without

tears of gratitude. Instead of choosing to go to Pyongyang, you, the patriots,

moved of your own accord to other disaster recovery areas. You are patriots.

As we look back, page by page, on the seventy- five glorious years of our

Party’s path,

I have thought a lot about what I should say first at this very moment,

here today, but what I truly want to open up and confess to our people,

the true feeling in my heart, is “ Thank you.”

That is the only word in my heart.
