Poetic Tribute to Leadership and Faith

So says one who offers his greeting with his right hand.

Hail its leader on the pulpit, and be ready. O God.

Do not let the gloaters rejoice over us, and avert the envious gaze from

the evil eye. Empower us with Your might, O Lord

of the worlds. A land with Tayyibah and the qibla of those who

prostrate. Mother of Cities, You said, “Enter it safely.”

We said, “You fulfilled the promise, O One, Eternal Refuge.”

Its servants and soldiers, throughout the years, we take pride in it.

And we pledge a covenant to the Lord: loyalty is bound

by the firm rope, since Abu Turki’s era, cherished forever.

Bless the day when the glorious ones led it.

Faisal came to Mecca that day, atop

young camels and amid draughts of yearning. He entered it

holding a sword drawn from its scabbard. My Lord gave him

strength, wisdom, and gentleness. There was none before him among

kings, nor after. A star rose above the star

of the two Farqads. Islam soared through it on the day it rose.

Today, Mecca is the jewel of the precious crown. And

for her, by God, he spares no effort. Salman, Noura’s

brother, is the leader of the Muslims. No one enters battle and has his wish denied.

The world stood for it, as the steadfast stand. And he set him down

my lord, when he sat. May God bless

him with manifest victory. He established justice

Follow, seek blessings, and pray at night. Those who came before

teach those who come after.
