Know — may God guide you and me to the best of manners — that among the greatest etiquettes are ten.
First, when you meet a Muslim, greet him by saying
Peace be upon you and God's mercy and blessings
And if he greets you, say
And upon you be peace and God's mercy and blessings
Second, if you intend to enter someone's room, seek permission while standing to the right of the door or on its left
If he permits you, enter. If you are told to go back, then return.
Third, say "Bismillah" at the start of your eating and drinking, saying
In the name of God. Eat with your right hand and eat from what is beside you.
And when you finish, lick your fingers and say, "Praise be to God."
Fourth, speak kindly and about good matters, keep your voice low, and be slow and deliberate when you speak.
Listen attentively to anyone who speaks to you, face them, and do not interrupt.
Do not speak before an elder.
Fifth, when you go to bed, perform ablution and sleep on your right side.
Recite Ayat al-Kursi once, then bring your hands together and recite in them Surah al-Ikhlas and the two surahs of refuge, then blow into your hands.
And wipe as much of your body as you can with them. Do this three times.
Sixth, if you sneeze, cover your face with your hand or with your garment.
And praise God. If someone says to you, "May God have mercy on you,"
then say, "May God guide you and set your affairs right."
Seventh: restrain yawning as much as you can.
And hold your hand over your mouth and do not say 'ah'.
Eighth: when you arrive at a gathering, offer the greeting.
And sit where the gathering ends.
Do not sit between the sun and the shade.
Do not separate two people except with their permission.
Do not make anyone get up from their seat.
Make room for whoever enters.
And remember Allah there.
And at minimum its expiation is to say:
Glory be to You, O Allah, and praise be to You.
I bear witness that there is no god but You.
I seek Your forgiveness and repent to You.
Ninth: give the way its due.
So lower your gaze, refrain from causing harm, and return the greeting.
And enjoin the good and forbid the evil.
Tenth.
Wear fine clothes, and the best of them is white.
And do not let your hem hang below your ankles.
Begin with your right when dressing, and with your left when undressing.
Completed, praise be to Allah.
