Analysis of Iconic Film Shots

Filmmakers always feel a little nervous about recreating certain iconic shots,

especially Vijay D's horned shot.

That is one of Mammootty's iconic shots from Vidheyan.

So, after that, he himself recreated it in Brahma Yugam, no one else even

tried to do that. So what was your confidence, or what

was your thought process

behind that?

That particular shot?

That specific horns shot.

Yes.

First of all, Vijay's character

starts with a slightly negative shade in the film.

The reason for those horns is the characterization, that arrogance,

the character is like a wild creature, Ranabali.

So, to convey that symbolically, we used them, and Mammootty sir's is an iconic

shot.

That shot is one of my favorite cinematic shots, one of my favorite Indian film shots.

So, in this film, we hadn't actually planned it beforehand...

When I came to that location and

put up all those props and looked, right then, I felt a shot like that

would be perfect here, so I did it. That shot came out beautifully.
