Colombia and US Trade Cooperation
By delegation of President-elect Abelardo de la Espella, we have finished the meeting with the commission
that the United States of America sent to Colombia and the city of Barranquilla.
A commission of the highest level of the most representative entities,
from the departments of the United States and entities that support American trade and investment in the world.
And we have had a very productive conversation on the possibility of working together
on projects that benefit the United States and Colombia in the energy sector,
in the technology sector, in the infrastructure sector,
on opportunities for joint work, on the recovery of Venezuela.
Thank you for this effort to be here, in a region as important as the Department of Atlántico,
building phase two of the official visit we had to the United States, which will
continue from now on with specific projects that generate jobs and opportunities for Colombia's development.
And we, on our part, are very happy to be here in our new phase
that we have between the nation of the United States and Colombia.
There is now a recognition on our part that we must work not only at the national level,
but at the subnational level, and that is the reason why we are here.
The United States is and will continue to be our strategic partner,
Colombia's primary trading and investment partner.
