Closure of Kalyan Basla's Gym
And now, NDTV has also spoken to the owner of the building where Kalyan
Basla ran his gym. Listen to what he said.
He ran it for two or three years.
He had been working at this gym for two or three years.
He ran it and had rented it. No one here ever had any
heated exchanges with him or anything. Nor did we ever see him angry.
We were like brothers. He called me uncle. We never had
any such issue between us.
There was nothing like that here to make us feel he could be violent
towards us, never.
But there was a minor rent dispute, after which a settlement was reached.
There was no dispute. It happens with tenants, so...
No. He didn't pay for one month. We shut it down.
No.
And since then, neither he nor his family members have come here.
Nobody came. Nobody. Why would anyone come when they have no
business here?
NDTV has reached outside the KBT gym which was
being run by Kalyan Baisal just two months ago.
According to the owner of this building, two months ago, there was a small dispute
regarding rent, but that was settled since Kalyan had
in fact paid one month's dues, and after that this gym has been
closed. We are showing you visuals of the very
gym where Kalyan Baisal
who is now the accused in the case of the woman biker Siya,

Gurugram Golf Course Road. Now these are the visuals we are bringing you
from just outside the gym where Kalyan Baisal was
in fact, you know, working, and this is the gym where he
was in fact working for the
past two years, according to what locals have told NDTV.
We are also showing you visuals from inside the gym.
This is the gym that was in fact being operated by him.
Many people, the locals of this Palwal area,
were in fact
coming to this very building to, you know, work out at the gym.
But yes, we are showing you visuals of how this
gym was in fact being run by
him two years ago. This gym was closed two years ago.
For two years, he was in fact running the gym.
But two months ago, this gym was in fact closed, and we are
also trying to speak to some people who are here.
What is your name, sir?
Ram Mohan.
Sir, we can see that the gym is closed.
Yes, it is closed.
We are being told that Kalyan Baisla used to run this gym.
Yes, he did. It has been closed for two months.
So why was the gym closed two months ago?
It was shut down over the rent.
There had been some dispute.
It was nothing. Just like that.
They said they couldn't pay the rent. But then...
It's been two months.
Have they paid the rent now, or did they have to close?
It's still shut. Not yet. I don't know what's going on now. My family handles these things.
