Today we celebrate what we know how to do best, what makes us loved,
appreciated around the world, what makes Italy the nation of ingenuity,
creativity, and beauty. And we do it by reaching a milestone that makes us
proud: the one thousand historic national brands registered in the
register of the Ministry of Business and Made in Italy. It is a milestone that
tells the story of many aspects of our identity and of what
distinguishes us as Italians. It speaks to us of the talent of our entrepreneurs,
the vitality of our businesses, the industrial excellence of our
producers, of a dynamic and solid fabric like that of historic brands
that generates almost 100 billion in revenue and provides work to over 350,000
people. It tells us, in other words, of an Italy that has never been content
and that has always dreamed big, that has not surrendered to mediocrity, that has not
stopped at the first difficulty, but that has always dared and has had the
courage to set ever more ambitious goals.
Today we celebrate historic brands, a fundamental part of that identity that is
recognized in us around the world, the homeland of beauty, of goodness, of things well made, because
this is what we are and what we must be able to highlight,
promote and support more and more. This is clearly the objective that this
government set for itself from the very beginning of its term, carrying forward a
clear strategy, capable of enhancing our strengths.
I am thinking of the law on Made in Italy, of the annual measure on small and
medium-sized enterprises, of investments in training and in the transfer of
skills, of the many and diverse measures to help our
businesses consolidate their position and reach new markets.
It is a commitment that has helped increase Italian exports, allowing
Italy to place fifth in the world among exporting nations,
overtaking South Korea and threatening Japan’s fourth place.
Today we celebrate the strength, the leading role, the productive diversification of
our businesses. We are doing so in a complex phase, probably the most difficult
situation in recent decades, but with an awareness that Italy can
prove once again what we are made of, because it is our history that
speaks for us. In the toughest moments we have always given the best of
ourselves. We have done it and we can do it again. That is why I want to repeat to
our entrepreneurs and our workers a message as simple as I believe it is
powerful. Believe in Italy, believe in what
we are, believe in our and your potential. Seize every opportunity and
turn it into a chance like no one else can.
We are here and we will always stand by your side, and we will not tire of doing
our part to build a stronger, more solid, more prosperous Italy, but
above all an Italy that is prouder and more confident in itself. Thank you again to everyone, happy
National Made in Italy Day.

siamo, credete nelle nostre e nelle vostre potenzialità. Cogliete ogni occasione e trasformatela in opportunità come nessun altro sa fare. Grazie ancora a tutti, buona
giornata nazionale del Made in Italy.
