Yemeni Armed Forces Statement on Airstrikes

Statement issued by the Yemeni Armed Forces.

In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. The Almighty said:

O you who believe,

if you support God, He will support you and make your feet firm.

God Almighty has spoken the truth. Saudi warplanes

launched more than four hundred and fifty airstrikes this week using F-15s

and Typhoons that took off from Khamis Mushait

and Taif air bases. They targeted the governorates of Taiz and Lahij,

Al Jawf, Hajjah, Marib, Saada and Al Bayda,

leaving civilians dead and wounded.

In response to this brutal aggression against our country and our people,

the Yemeni Armed Forces, with God's help

and grace, succeeded in downing a Saudi warplane,

an F-15, while it was carrying out

hostile acts in support of military mobilization in the skies over Marib Governorate,

using a locally made surface-to-air missile.

In a related development, the Yemeni Armed Forces carried out

an interception operation against two Saudi combat formations,

F-15s and Typhoons, in the skies over

Marib Governorate, using locally made missiles.

It was searching for the wreckage of the plane that was shot down.

It was forced to retreat, by God’s grace.

The Yemeni Armed Forces will continue to protect

our country’s airspace and safeguard its sovereignty from any

aggression or violation by all available means, and

Yemen’s skies will not be violated, God willing.

The fabrications and lies spread by the Al Saud regime

about targeting Mecca cannot

deceive anyone, for they are the ones who defile it with immorality

and debauchery and bring in prostitutes. There is no

threat from Yemen to the holy sites, for our operations

target its oil facilities and military

bases, which are far removed from

the holy sites. God

is sufficient for us, and He is the best disposer of affairs. Yes,

the best Protector and the best Helper. Long live Yemen,

free, proud and independent. Victory to Yemen

and to all the free people of the nation. Sana’a, the fifth of Rabi
