Call for Support for Syrian People

To be false witnesses, when Almighty God says,

“Among the qualities of the servants of the Most Merciful are those who do not bear false witness.

And when they pass by idle talk, they pass by with dignity.”

What false testimony could be greater than seeing these crimes while we are silent

and merely watching?

Is this the most we can offer? No.

We have opportunities to stand with our brothers.

Truly, I do not fear for our brothers in Syria, for they are victorious

by God’s permission. I fear for ourselves. I fear

for these cold hearts.

I fear for these eyes that do not weep at what they see of

these scenes.

I fear for these hands that do not reach out to aid their brothers.

I fear the silent tongue.

Those who conceal the truth. I especially mean some students of religious knowledge.

“And when God took a covenant from those who were given the Scripture, ‘You must make it clear’

to the people and not conceal it,’ but they cast it behind their backs and exchanged it for

a small price. How wretched is what they purchase.” History records

this situation as it recorded it among the Children of Israel.

My beloved brothers, go forth, do not stop.

Support them however you can, through prayer, support, money,

relief efforts, and speaking out.

Rulers must stand with our brothers in al-Sham.

The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said in an authentic hadith, in a sound hadith:

"If al-Sham is corrupted, there is no good in you."

Will you not wait for al-Sham to become corrupted? Will you not wait for al-Sham's destruction?

And we watch. Some football fans are more affected

by football than some Muslims are by what is happening in al-Sham,

and they support their team and stand

by it wholeheartedly more than some Muslims stand

with their brothers in al-Sham, elsewhere, and in Palestine.

History does not lie,

and facts are not falsified,

and we seek refuge in God from being false witnesses.

So let us fear God Almighty and show God Almighty

a sincere stand with our brothers, so that God may ward off affliction from us,

so that God may ward off punishment from us. Otherwise, if you turn away,

He will replace you with other people, and they will not be like you.
