In the name of the Lord of the rainbow. Greetings to all Iranians.

We are a group of veterans and disabled war veterans of our homeland who,

years ago, stood in the fires of war beside our dear people and made our

homeland a shield.

Today we once again witness the blazing of a spark

that has risen from the hearts of the children of the homeland and in these days

when the glorious lion and sun flag, that ancient symbol of light and splendor,

has been raised by free- spirited soldiers, we came to understand more

than ever that the spirit of the homeland and patriotism is still alive.

This flag in this account is not just a sign. It is an oath to freedom,

a reminder of what is older than any government and more powerful

than any demon of tyranny. We, the veterans,

also bow our heads before the memory and name of Omid Sarlak,

that free- spirited young man

from Lorestan who gave his life to set fire to and bring down the curtain and

symbol of tyranny, and we believe that he is a

flame of awakening, not a single individual.

He is a story of all those who Who, in dark times, choose the light.

Today we as a wounded but awakened generation declare:

every place where oppression casts its shadow,

we will consign the image of despotism to the fire of conscience,

just as the free spirits of history entrusted

the image of dictators to the flames of truth.

And this symbolic fire is not a fire of hatred, it is purification,

it is a new beginning. In conclusion, we, the disabled

veterans and war veterans, once again, in a loud and clear voice,

declare our support for Prince Pahlavi

as the leader of the transition period

and for holding a free referendum in the post- Islamic Republic era to choose the

future form of government. Long live Iran.
