I think they broke this World Championship bronze medal record in about their third year.

In their third year, the Riku-Ryu pair rewrote it.

With their silver medal, I was commentating with all my might back then, too, but...

I was like, "Wow, I'm actually so frustrated."

I knew it was an amazing thing that the history of pairs was being rewritten over and over.

But still, having my own record rewritten, and on top of that...

by Ryuichi, who used to skate with me... It was really, you know...

I had feelings like, "Honestly, if it weren't Ryuichi, I could have been happier for them."

Those feelings welled up. But...

And I also really disliked myself

for feeling that way towards Ryuichi.

What helped me overcome that was my own feelings, plus, surprisingly, thanks to Riku-Ryu.
