Military Supply Issues in Ukraine
Greetings, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces
of Ukraine,
Major General Mykhailo Vasylovych Drapatyi.
I am the commander of the fire support platoon of the fire support company of the third
battalion, military unit A7049.
We are on temporary assignment with the second battalion of unmanned systems of military
unit A7049, in the Zaporizhzhia sector.
We would like to raise some problematic issues concerning our temporary assignment.
We arrived on temporary assignment to replace seven servicemen
who had spent eight months in positions without
rotation.
And the duration of our assignment, as we were told, was one
month. But from April until now,
we have remained in the positions.
We were told that there were reserve positions, primary
positions, and that they were ready for occupancy. But as it turned out, that is not the case.
We were told that their supplies and logistics were all set up,
and that they dropped everything to everyone
from drones. And that isn't true either.
We are currently in a shelter that we found because all the positions were destroyed.
There have been no food or drinking water supplies for three to
seven days.
When I was at another position, while my personnel were at
another position, they received nothing at all for twelve
days, neither
drinking water nor food.
Given the situation, uh, to support our
bodies, we drink our own urine and wait
for them to drop us at least something.
They destroyed our Starlink, and we only had radio communications
and asked them to drop us a Starlink, but all we got in response was a plus
and
that was it. Our acquaintances bought us our Starlink two weeks ago
but we only received
it three days ago. And even then, I found out by accident,
that we have a personal
Starlink. Our families and our battalion command
were told that we
had everything we needed and were fully supplied. But that is not true.
For all my personnel, they drop packages containing four kilograms
of food and three bottles of water, while others receive nine kilograms each.
And if they do not drop water to them at night, they drop it during the day.
But when I ask over the radio for supplies to be dropped to us,
I get various excuses in response, and we
wait for nightfall to receive the packages.
We order medicine, and I also receive it late, and sometimes I do not
receive it at all. Some of my service members spent several days
in
a semi-conscious state from lack of water and food.
I have decided that, when conditions are favorable, my
personnel and I will leave our positions without waiting for relief, because we have neither the strength
nor the ability to remain in our positions.
We are not refusing to serve, but we have no other choice.
We are asking for a corridor
for safe passage from here and
transport for evacuation.
All the other authorities we contacted, they did not help us.
You are our only hope.
We don't know whether we'll live until the time when
weather conditions become favorable, or whether the enemy will destroy us,
or whether our own, uh, commanders will destroy us, who
are commanding us now while we are away on assignment.
Respectfully, Lieutenant Anatolii Oleksandrovych Seichuk.
We hope for your understanding and
your help, and that you will not abandon us in this trouble,
because we want to return home, to our families, to our loved ones.
We are not refusing to fight for our country,
but we ask that you at least
provide us with food and water, and that
rotations be carried out in accordance with the law.
