Recognition of Israeli Sovereignty in Golan

You remember the phrase, “The people are with the Golan,” right?

So today, the people are with Colombia, because the president of

Colombia, our friend, recognized Israel’s sovereignty over the Golan

Heights. Thank you, Mr. President. Let me explain why this is important.

This is the Sea of Galilee, and this is the Golan Heights.

Syria is over here, Lebanon is here. This place is vital

to our security, and the Israeli flag flies here

and will continue to fly here, because this is our land.

We had a presence here as far back as the cities of refuge in the days of Moses

our teacher, and dozens of synagogues that we are restoring

dating back to the eighth century CE.

But today, it is ours. It has become ours again. It will always be ours.

And the fact that President Trump recognized our sovereignty here is an important

first step, and today

Colombia has taken a second step. The people are with the Golan, the people are with

Colombia.
