As Turks of Europe, you are the true- born children of this homeland.

Governments in the past may have ignored you, may have neglected you,

some people may have looked at you for decades only through the foreign-

currency window. But together with our 7 million people who have built lives all

around the world,

you deserve the very best in respect and service. In the last 23 years,

together with our citizens at home, we have worked for you as well.

The law we passed in 2012 With the 7th amendment,

we enabled our voters abroad to cast their votes at ballot boxes set up in our

embassies and consulates.

From military service to retirement procedures, from population and

citizenship to customs and notary services, we have implemented

over 60 regulations to date. With our Consular Call Center,

in the last 11 months We answered more than 650,000 calls.

By establishing the Presidency for Turks Abroad and Related Communities,

we took an important step for the future of the Turkish diaspora. God willing,

by adding new ones to these, we will continue to serve you. From you, I always

expect you to be united, to stand

together, and to hold fast not only to your culture but also to your brotherhood.

I expect you to firmly protect them. You will not allow anyone to

provoke you or to drag you outside the realm of law and legitimacy.

You will certainly preserve and

strengthen your ties with your homeland.
