Right now this is one of the most difficult moments in our history.

Right now, the pressure on Ukraine is one of the most severe.

Now Ukraine may find itself facing a very difficult choice.

Either the loss of dignity, or the risk of losing a key partner.

Either the difficult 28 points, or an extremely harsh winter.

The most severe and the subsequent risks.

A life without freedom, without dignity, without justice.

And so that we would believe the one who has already attacked twice.

They will expect an answer from us.

Although in fact I already gave it on May 20, 2019,

when, while swearing allegiance to Ukraine, I specifically said

I, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, elected president of Ukraine by the will of the people,

I pledge by all my actions to defend the sovereignty and independence of Ukraine.

To uphold the rights and freedoms of citizens.

To adhere to the Constitution and the laws of Ukraine.

To perform my duties in the interests of all my fellow citizens.

Elevate Ukraine's standing in the world.

For me it's not a ceremonial formality. For Halochka it's an oath.

And every day, to every word of hers I remain faithful.

I will never betray her.

Ukraine's national interest must be taken into account.

We are not making loud statements.

We will work calmly with the United States and all our partners.

We will seek constructive solutions with our main partner.

I will present arguments, persuade, and propose alternatives.

But we will certainly not give the enemy any grounds to say that Ukraine does not want peace.

That Ukraine is the one derailing the process and that Ukraine is not ready for diplomacy.

That will not happen.
