I am here in the town of Khiam in southern Lebanon,

inside a clothing shop that at first glance seems like a perfectly ordinary

civilian place. But beneath this shop,

at a depth of about 25 meters underground,

the Israel Defense Forces discovered a command center belonging to the Hezbollah

terrorist organization. This discovery

once again reveals how Hezbollah integrates its terrorist infrastructure within

civilian areas,

among the homes and shops of Lebanese residents,

directly putting civilians in harm’s way.

Building an underground military command center inside a civilian neighborhood,

and using a clothing shop as cover for terrorist activity,

is a cynical and deliberate exploitation of the people of Lebanon and of

civilian infrastructure, and a clear violation of international law.

The Israel Defense Forces will continue to act resolutely to dismantle terrorist

infrastructure, and to neutralize any threat to the citizens of the State of Israel.
