So friends, today I will tell you who built AIIMS. So friends, the country's

first AIIMS was built by Rajkumari Amrit Kaur ji. Rajkumari Amrit

Kaur ji belonged to a royal family from Kapurthala, Punjab.

She completed her studies at London University. At the age of 30,

she returned to India and joined the freedom movement. She had only one dream: that

a high-standard medical education institute be built. After independence, she became the country's first

health minister, and she was the country's first female cabinet minister. But

Nehru ji did not support her vision due to a lack of funds. She

did not give up and started raising funds herself. This initiative of hers

was supported by the governments of New Zealand, Australia, and Germany.

also donated her ancestral property. The first location of AIIMS was

proposed for Kolkata. But the Congress CM there, Bidhan Chandra Roy,

flatly refused. Because of that, AIIMS came to Delhi. Rajkumari Amrit Kaur

laid the foundation stone of AIIMS in 1952, and

it was ready in 1956. This is how the country's first AIIMS

was built. For 50 years after the first AIIMS was built, no other AIIMS

was built in the country. Then 50 years later, the government changed, and from the BJP,

Atal Bihari Vajpayee became the country's PM, and in 2003, under the Pradhan Mantri

Rashtriya Suraksha Yojana, Atal ji announced six more AIIMS, which

were proposed for Patna, Raipur, Bhubaneswar, Bhopal, Jodhpur, and Rishikesh.

But the very next year, the Congress government came to power, and the project went on hold.

And until 2012, only one AIIMS, which was in Bhubaneswar, was ready,

where there was no Congress government. Apart from this, all the other AIIMS

were completed in 2015, under the Modi government. Today, under Modi's

government, there are 26 AIIMS in total, 20 of which are fully operational.

Three are under construction, one is announced, and two are proposed. The 20

Bhubaneswar,

Bhopal and Jodhpur, Patna, Raipur and Rishikesh, Rae Bareli, Trilakgiri,

Nagpur and Kalyani, Gorakhpur and Bathinda, Guwahati and Jammu, Bilaspur and

Madurai, Deoghar, and Rajkot. On the under-construction

list, there are Darbhanga,

Awantipora, and Rewari. One is announced in Manipur, and the remaining two
