Reflections on Hope Amidst Crisis

I just want to understand why you wake up frowning and sulking.

Carrying the worries of the world on your head and despairing. Man, I'm here in central

Gaza.

My biggest worry is leaving my home. I don't know whether

I'll return to my children or not. And if I do, will I find them

waiting for me, or gone?

And I say, "Oh Lord." Our markets are empty. There is no food.

Fear on every side. Anxiety. Exhaustion.

Worry.

We don't know where things are heading. We have every reason to despair.

And we say, "Oh Lord."

There is a generous Lord, a Lord who changes things and changes circumstances. What are you

upset about, man?

God can change my situation and yours in a single moment.

For three years, we've woken up every day under death. Under pain.

Under fear. Under exhaustion. Under poverty. And under displacement.

And we say, "Oh Lord, we're not despairing." We have hope that in one

moment, the Lord of the universe can change the whole universe

and transform circumstances for the better. You have some

debts. You're sick. You have some exhaustion. Pain.

What are those beside God's almighty power and God's mercy?

Have faith in God, man. Come on,

don't despair. Don't lose hope. God is capable.

He changes and replaces. Stay at His door. Never leave

His door.
