Film Length Discussion and Audience Feedback

Everyone says what was good in the film, this was good, that was good, and so on.

They emphasize that. At the same time, there was a general opinion

that

it was a little too long. You had already mentioned that the other day.

About that.

But this conclusion about the length never actually came up for discussion on the table

regarding the film.

That comes up with every film. That’s an obvious discussion, definitely.

Mm-hmm, mm-hmm.

A discussion about the runtime will inevitably come up.

Along with that, ten other things come up too.

This is also one factor among them.

Okay.

This particular point, again, seemed like one that many reviewers felt

and raised.

But among many people who have now seen the film—because we

held many previews even before the release.

We held previews for different sections of people.

We previewed it and got feedback as well.

We need to see what works out and what doesn't.

When spending that much and taking it to people, you shouldn't go in blind.

I generally do.

Yes

I've had that habit since my first film.

Mm-hmm.

Even then, the point many people made, very clearly, was the length issue.

But

Especially, compared to the first half, the second half worked much better for many people.

Mm.

Mainly because there are strong scenes, there's an emotional hook.

The second half really took off, though. That's what many people told me.

So again, regarding the point about the length, some people

Maybe they used it just to make it easy to use. Once they think, “Wow!

This has some length,” that’s what the audience will see.

He’ll feel the same way.

So, other than that phrase coming out that way, actually, if you ask me, there isn’t anything.

The movie doesn't have that problem.
