What Trump or others took from the Muslims as money, calling it jizya,

is not correct Islamically.

So what do we call it in Islamic law?

We call it“ conciliation of hearts.”

For Almighty God mentioned among the categories of zakat,

which are the known outlets of zakat, God said:

“ Charities are only for the poor and the needy and those employed to collect them

and those whose hearts are to be reconciled, and for freeing slaves and for those

in debt and in the path of God and for the wayfarer, as an obligation from God.”

So among them is conciliation of hearts, and conciliation of hearts is for the

disbelievers. And it is of two types: those whose Islam is hoped for,

or whose aggression is repelled and whose evil is feared. Do you understand?

And this is what is happening now. So if you like, call it zakat from the Muslims

to such mighty figures among the non- Muslims,

so as to ward off their harm from the Muslims,

and also to bring some benefit from them, like now, meaning this person who came

and took money,

did he not refrain from imposing sanctions on Syria?

All of this— does he have a reward for it or not? He has a reward,

and this country pays it, and also so that his power is restrained

from the Muslims and his harm is kept away from the Muslims.

There is no reward for it? It does have a reward. And also as a form of arming,

and also as a way of approving the arming,

and also as a way to be a deterrent to

anyone among the Persians who might be tempted or others to attack the Sunni people,

and so on with all these kinds of things.
