Trump Supporter on the 2016 Victory, Political Strategy and Devotion
I support Donald J. Trump. I really love Trump.
By July or June, more so than just party loyalty.
No, I think the Trump strategy was absolutely brilliant.
Well, it was just ecstasy, to say
the least. Indescribable, the feeling. People were in mourning.
People were depressed. I walked outside and with my Make
America Great Again hat to gloat after the victory, and it just ruined
people's day when they saw. You could see their faces, which were
already melancholy, just drop to absolute
misery. Um, and I, I loved it. I just...
Oh my gosh, that feeling to see at long last the
pretentious, uppity, judgemental liberals
now absolutely defeated and crushed.
It was the greatest feeling in the world.
And you know, while we would love to have unity,
and one day we would
love to come together as Americans,
to have that one week where we just, where you could say,
"Screw you, we won, and you lost," so rich.
And what we witnessed was history in the making.
I mean, that, that was akin to watching Osama bin Laden get
shot a few
years ago. Or akin, I mean, to... and obviously carries negative
connotations, but 9/11 or the Berlin Wall coming down or Pearl
Harbor. But I mean, that was one of those moments where you
were seeing
world history being made. I mean, this was Brexit, this was Trump's win,
this was, um, you know, the Italian referendum,
which failed yesterday.
I mean, this is, this is something that is in the history of Western civilization
that will be written about for years. So a- absolutely incredible to watch.
I think that we have to continue to, to put pressure on him.
We can't be sycophants, or we'll end up with the same broken
promises that liberals
saw with Obama. I, I love Donald Trump, and it's sort
of scary because I have a really good friend of mine from high school,
and we were
on the Trump train. He actually sort of convinced me to get on
the Trump train.
And, uh, I asked him one day on Twitter, 'cause we were, you know, we were trading
memes, and we were talking about how great Trump
is and how awesome everything was
going to be. And I said, "Are we in a cult?" You know?
Because there is sort of this godlike devotion in a
certain sect of the party. And, and for a lot of people it's ironic,
but for a
lot of people they really do see him as sort of a savior figure.
And you have to caution against the excesses of
sort of a messianic political movement.
Strategically, we need to be supportive of Trump,
and we need to
overlook the bad things that he says for tactical and pragmatic
purposes. Because if we jump in on it with him,
there's no one
standing for Trump, and it's CNN and the world versus Donald Trump.
It's the Europe, it's the Vatican, it's the president, it's his own party,
and then
his people against him. So you know, we sort of have to be very
much devoted to him. And even the things
that ideologically I'm not totally on
board with or, or I disagree with some of the ways
that he does things, I,
I have to admire the fact that
in totality he is this courageous lion
who is just sheer strength, who has no fear.
Um,
and you have to sort of look at it in a holistic way.
I think that's the only way to look at it.
