Reflections on Life and Struggles

It wavers. You will keep striving, friends.

Your eyes may stray to what is forbidden, you will seek forgiveness.

We were created prone to mistakes. God willing, we will prevail through struggle.

We fell, we will repent. We slipped, we will pull ourselves together.

We went the wrong way, God willing, we will return to the factory.

Following divine navigation toward Paradise, we will pull ourselves together once more.

What is the name of our task, friends? It will continue this way for a lifetime.

We lost Tuesday.

We will win Wednesday. We failed to make the most of Rajab.

God willing, we will do justice to Sha'ban. Our youth flew by.

Middle age, oh dear, that too is chaos.

Then there are the wife and children, all the money went to the market mafia.

He took out a loan, sold that, ruined this, and then there was all this rush,

panic. Then came the children's marriages

and divorces.

That too slipped away. We will manage being grandfathers, we will do justice to being grandmothers.

We will. Stay well.

We'll get reading glasses. We'll sit by the window,

we'll complete recitations of the Quran,

we'll laugh at those who come, at those who go.

Honey will flow from our mouths, light from our faces.
