O my great Syrian people,

peace be upon you and the mercy and blessings of God.

I address you today from the slopes of Mount Qasioun

with congratulations and thanks for the lifting of sanctions on Syria.

Today will be the first day of Syria without sanctions, thanks to God Almighty,

then to your efforts and patience for fourteen years.

My greatest thanks to everyone who sacrificed and was patient during

the period of the blessed Syrian revolution,

to everyone who inhaled chemical weapons,

and to everyone who migrated and left his land,

and to everyone who drowned in the seas,

and to the blood of the martyrs whose blood watered this blessed

land until we reached this great victory,

which was crowned, thanks to God Almighty,

by the complete lifting of restrictions on Syria.

I also extend my deepest and special thanks to President Donald Trump,

President of the United States of America,

for responding to the call of this people, the Syrian people,

and to the members of Congress for appreciating the sacrifices of the Syrian people

and responding to their call to lift the sanctions on Syria. Thanks are also due

to President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Prince Mohammed bin Salman, and Prince Tamim bin

Hamad Al Thani. I also extend my deep thanks

to all the Arab countries and the Islamic and European countries that supported

this Syrian people during the time of its war and also supported it by lifting the

sanctions on it in the last year. Great Syrian people, today has become your day.

The time of pain has passed and the time of construction has begun, God willing.

Hand in hand, we build this homeland until we lead it to the highest ranks,

God Almighty willing, and peace, God’s mercy, and His blessings be upon you.
