Analysis of a Recent Agreement

An opportunity has arisen, and if we lose

this opportunity, we'll face strange problems. Where did this opportunity—

manifest itself? In the memorandum. Go read this memorandum;

it is unprecedented. After World War

II, no memorandum, no document

signed by the US president has given so many

concessions to the opposing side, or, in return, assumed so many

commitments for itself. Nine times,

the US stated it undertakes, using the verbs "undertake"

and "commit", three of which are shared with Iran, and Iran is

also committed. One is respecting national sovereignty, its own

and its supporters', and the other side's. Also, it's signed;

the signatures of two presidents appear on it. I don't at all—I don't

trust America either. But in any case, the validity

of this document is much greater and

higher than many other documents. Second, this was in a— we reached this understanding when

we were in a position of dignity. Just compare Iran's situation

both domestically and internationally, before the 12-

day war. Today, we are more respected, and let me say here, I truly

kiss Mr. Pezeshkian's hands

for bravely and selflessly going and

signing here. Truly the pride of Iran, the Islamic

Republic, and I also thank those who voted,

and then the Leader who approved it. We reached this agreement;

we must not let it be lost.

Any step toward preventing war, I say frankly,

l-lifting these restrictions for

Iran, and God willing opening the path to a

better future, must be supported. And also a government

in which, during this time, truly Mr.

Pezeshkian alongside the people with his government managed

to ensure that in this crisis of poverty, war, and

bombs, this country was run. True, there is hunger,

there is unemployment, but at least the people do not feel

a shortage, and this is truly commendable.
