Religious Speech on Faith and Struggle

In the name of Allah, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful.

So you did not kill them, but Allah

killed them.

And you did not throw when you threw, but

Allah threw, that He might test the believers

with a good trial from Him.

Indeed, Allah is All-Hearing, All-Knowing.

That is so, and Allah weakens the schemes

of the disbelievers.

If you seek victory, then

victory has come to you.

And if you desist, it is better

for you.

But if you return, We will return, and your

force will not avail you in any way,

even if it is numerous. And Allah is

with the believers.

Rise, for Allah does not approve that you live

humiliated. Truly love the cloaks

and carry a heavy burden. Rise, for

Take from us. Who but us gives the banner its due? We are the sacrifice for the faith.

O soldiers of Allah, march and endure patiently.

Your onslaught against disbelief has never been seen before,

and disbelief has not yet recovered from its terror,

still stunned by it and staggering,

as if intoxicated, though it is not

intoxicated.

By Allah, it is the sincere resolve of resolute men.

By Allah, it is a patience unlike any

patience ever seen.

By God, a blow the white swords never saw the like of,

nor had the dark Rodainian spears heard of it.

No deed against the infidels was like his,

nor any onslaught upon them, neither old nor

new.

With resolve, you struck the head of unbelief

a blow

that shattered its head and split its back,

and the fortresses of unbelief fell to the ground after

one half had vanished and the other half caught fire,

and from the dreadful horror there arose

a Day of Resurrection

whose description bewildered thought and poetry,

and the enemies’ sanctuary became a pasture for fire,

though it had been a protected sanctuary, and what use was

that protection?

They fled in a rout, gathering together as though

from terror, they were mice possessed by panic,

You have exacted vengeance on unbelief

that was lost, with vengeance like this.

Let vengeance be repaid with vengeance.

You have healed hearts filled with rage

before you, and after long resentment,

the heart has been healed.

You awakened history after its slumber,

for Hattin has risen

and Batmo has awakened.

Crush tyranny's gang, strike them

with a devastating blow. Victory fled from an army

that unsheathed the heavy sword.
