Student Questions Temple Control and Calls for Hindu Protests in India
Today you spoke about how the government has taken over a lot of temples, but
not churches or mosques. And we know the reason because
if the government
takes over one mosque, obviously everybody
is going to start create a
protest, and that may lead to impeachment.
Similarly, you spoke about the bombing of my hometown
in nineteen ninety-eight and
how Basha, the funeral of Basha, so many people gathered around,
and people who follow Islam gathered around and no action was taken by the
government. Now, when I-- I also want to connect this to one
particular, I won't say party, an organization called CJP.
I do not like CJP a person completely.
But, but at least they have the bravery to join
and protest
against the government that has been in power for twelve years.
And we know that many people are against it.
But as the ma-majority population of India, I think eighty percent,
why are we hesitating to come together and protest?
Because we see in front of our eyes so much of injustice happen to our
people. When the leader of opposition of the Tamil
Nadu legislative assembly can
say, "Tamil Padai Maccanai Pirikum Sanathanam
Ozhinga Padaravedu," there are
so many people in that assembly who's appreciating it.
Now, as common people, I know we can't,
we can't do anything about it, but why can't we all join together and
form a protest? And I know you and Sri Sainik are the faces of
Youth Hinduism, and if we-- you two can create an organization, I
am ready to join in and we can protest,
and we can make a difference. Thank you.
First of all, I am absolutely amazed and proud
that this young gentleman is amongst us.
I think the first question was about the future of the country.
Our future is incredibly bright if we have such people.
So forget about you joining any organization that I make, I would like
to join his organization
as well.
Thank you. I don't know anybody in the audience who
was as informed, as
articulate as he was when we were in tenth class.
Good question. Just incredible. But let me...
I, I think the amazing question that you asked, uh, merits maybe a
couple of minutes, Nati, if I have, and, uh, yeah, it's just a couple of minutes.
So, because I think that's very important.
And I would like to, uh, have audience participation in it.
And I would not
ask-- answer that question. That, that answer to that young man
would come from you, the audience, so that, uh,
if I go to jail, I take all of you along with me as well.
