And here is clear that our over-dependencies are a stumblestone to competitiveness. We have to get rid of our over-dependencies. This is only possible through a network of free trade agreement and therefore Mercosur plays a central role in our trade agreements. It is potentially a market of 700 million consumers,
like-minded countries that want free trade together in Mercosur. Europea should open to these trade agreements, particularly with an area that is very close to Spain in the cultural, economic and historical scope of all kinds,
such as Mercosur, and we hope that we can reach that agreement. Of course, on behalf of the Spanish government, all the efforts that we are doing go in that direction. I believe that it would be very frustrating if Europe does not reach an agreement
with Mercosur once we have already managed to approve in the European Parliament those safeguards clauses for the European primary sector and that we have everything prepared, that also the presidency of Mercosur and the Brazilian government already have everything prepared so that this Saturday we can ratify on behalf of Europe, on behalf of the presidency of the European Commission,
this important trade agreement. Tradução e legendas www.intervoices.com
