Sandra, Dana, good morning.
Right now we are at a location where the Israeli police have brought
what they recovered from an Iranian ballistic missile.
Off to my left here, this is part of the fuel cell that fell on Israel
after the missile was intercepted.
And this just gives you a sense of how large these missiles are.
There are two parts to the fuel cell for these missiles,
and we're here with the bomb disposal unit
for the Israeli police, Chief Superintendent Doron Lavi.
Doron, thank you for speaking with us today.
Yeah, good afternoon. Welcome.
First of all, could you tell us just about this fuel cell and where it was recovered?
Yeah, it was recovered here in Central District.
This is one of two fuel cells that actually propelled the missile
all the way from Iran to here.
And also here you have a part of a munition,
the cluster munitions that are being used against Israel right now.
Tell us what we're looking at here.
So, we are looking at a typical submunition or cluster munition.
It weighs about 20 Ks...
and out of it about three Ks of explosive.
There are few tens of this submunition inside the warhead.
The warhead opens up there
and actually spray about few tens of this munition.
It can cover miles on miles.
And whenever it hits the ground, it exploded,
and actually it kills.
Thank you, Doron, very much.
And again, Dana and Sandra, these missiles have been soaring through the skies of Israel
for the past several days. Even as we drove to this location,
there were more alerts and four or five interceptions overhead.
But again, you see part of the fuel cell here from one Iranian ballistic missile
that fell in part on the outskirts of Tel Aviv.
The writing there in English, as is common language
for many of these missile programs around the world.
And as we continue to cover this story, the Israelis say
they expect the missile fire into Israel to reduce,
and even earlier today, Israel's Home Front Command,
the branch of the army responsible for communicating
with the civilian population,
has changed the alert level for people here in Israel,
allowing them to gather in public in small locations
as long as they're close to those bomb shelters. Dana, Sandra.
Fascinating report, Trey.
And I have a question, this might not be answerable...
