Transfer negotiations involving Atlético de Madrid
or because the market says so, we will set the market.
First of all, regarding Atlético de Madrid, which you ask me about,
earlier you made reference to Atlético de Madrid,
I have personally spoken with Atlético de Madrid
and I already made it very clear to them how things stood.
Deco made an offer
of a certain amount of money for this player.
We know the player wants to come to Barça, but for a while now,
since before he was at the City Hotel,
and well, in this sense, we made this offer,
with all due respect to Atlético de Madrid,
which has all my respect, both Cerezo and Miguel Ángel Gil.
I was speaking with him, we agreed they had the offer,
he told me that, in principle, he did not plan to sell,
because they had no alternative,
I told him that, when he had an alternative, the offer is firm.
We will keep this offer firm
for as long as we see fit,
and we will let it be known in due course,
but we won't be dependent on what we might be told,
by Atlético de Madrid on this matter.
Atlético de Madrid already knows what our wishes are,
if they want to do it, we'll be delighted, and we're doing it, I tell you,
with all due respect for a club that deserves all our respect
and with whom we have good relations at an institutional level
for a long time, on a personal level as well.
