Claims About LDL Cholesterol, Longevity, and Statins
So I'm going to tell you not to worry at all about total
cholesterol. It is a fallacy that was developed in
the nineteen sixties and seventies to worry about total
cholesterol and
heart attack risk. Still, many people do not get the
memo that cholesterol is critically important.
That's why all animals have it. That's why breast milk has it.
That's why eggs contain it, because that's how a chicken comes to
life.
Don't, do not fear the total cholesterol.
In fact, for people older than sixty, the higher the
total cholesterol, the longer they live. That's right.
So if you have low cholesterol, be very afraid, especially
when you're over
sixty. Now, a study from two thousand and sixteen by over sixteen
different authors, including Uffe Ravnskov and also Aseem
Malhotra and other cardiologists are in this paper in the British Medical
Journal, showed that the majority of
studies show that the higher the
LDL cholesterol, the lower your risk of
dying. Get that? So the higher the LDL
cholesterol, the lower your risk of dying
overall. LDL is extremely important.
It has a role delivering things around the body. LDL is made in the liver.
It delivers passengers around the body, such as cholesterol itself,
triglycerides, fat-soluble vitamins, CoQ10.
It's part of the immune system. So LDL is critically important.
If your LDL is low,
worry. If your LDL is
high, quote-unquote high according to the
pharmaceutical company literature,
uh, you know, then, uh,
uh, that's a good thing as far as overall
mortality is concerned.
So you can check out that link,
uh, in the British Medical Journal, two thousand and sixteen.
Lead author is Uffe Ravnskov, who is a famish, uh,
famous, uh, Danish, uh, physician who's been writing about the
benefits of lipids
for, uh, for a long time. So don't believe the propaganda.
Don't believe the hype.
Statins are not the answer for you.
Find the optimal cholesterol for you based on the principles of
eat well, live well, think well, test, don't guess, evidence-based supplements,
biohacking strategies. That's the solution.
