Sahar Fard is one of tens of thousands of protesting citizens and,

of course, many athletes who were targeted by the bullets of repressive government

forces during the anti- government protests in January and became immortalized.

During the nationwide street protests on January 8 in Qarchak, Varamin, she lost

her life to direct live ammunition fired by security forces.

Sahar's life was intertwined with sports. She was a women's taekwondo champion and a

Pilates and fitness coach, spending most of her time teaching and

promoting sports among women, working as a coach at a gym.

Sahar started sports with gymnastics as a child, and later, in taekwondo,

she achieved the provincial championship…
