Post-match analysis of Portugal's game
Suffering from start to finish, a typical Portuguese game but united, what is your assessment of this match?
A very chaotic game, in my view. The first half was spectacular, I think we dominated the game,
we even had some opportunities, Croatia did nothing, and I think that in the second half,
after the goal we conceded, we got a little stressed, but after 5 or 10 minutes we managed to react again,
we had an opportunity, that goal of mine that was offside by a hair, and then the penalty,
I think from then on things improved and the team is to be congratulated. To win this competition, you have to know how to suffer,
and that's what happened today.
Cristiano, an incredible career over these years, today was another goal,
Sometimes we Portuguese ask too much of the national team. What, as a Portuguese and as Cristiano Ronaldo,
do you want to say to the Portuguese to keep us calm for the next match?
What I want to say is, to those who are here with us, and to those who are in Portugal,
who continue to support us, because that's what remains, at least for me, I'm left with,
the people who like us, the people who believe in us, the people who are waiting for us at the hotel,
the people who are in Portugal, in those fan zones supporting Portugal,
everything else is impossible to control, we have to focus on the people who like us,
and what I can promise and guarantee is that these guys are full of passion,
We have this hope that it's possible, game by game, we know it's going to be complicated and quite difficult,
but nobody wins competitions without suffering, so today was one of those days,
but hopeful that in the next games we will continue the fight.
Thank you very much, Cristiano, we are out of time.
